研習內容簡介:In this talk, we will ask and answer the question ‘what is English?’ We will look at the idea of Standard English – what it is and what it is not – and how the English we learn, know, and speak today has developed. As English is spoken in so many places around the world, and in so many different ways, we will examine attitudes towards different Englishes and ask which variety of English is most appropriate for Taiwanese speakers to learn and use.
